Our story

agonas was founded by Alexander Simeonidis and Jens Alén. Two friends who met at the University of Uppsala while studying Computer Science. They were not only studying however. Plenty of time went to watching sports on TV, especially football and Premier League in particular. After spending lots of time searching different sources for information regarding which channels that were showing their favourite teams they realised that something was missing. That’s why they, in early 2004, decided to create their own sports TV guide. The site was to be called TVmatchen and on February 27, 2004 it was launched. From the start it covered Football and Icehockey on the most popular TV channels in Sweden.

TVmatchen continued to be a hobby project for many years. More sports, channels and features were added and in 2010 the first app for iPhone was released. Versions for Android and iPad shortly followed.

In 2013 Alex & Jens left their jobs to focus fully on TVmatchen. This led to the launch of the service in Denmark (TVsporten.dk) and a few months later also in Norway (TVkampen.com).

In 2017 TVmatchen, TVsporten and TVkampen were acquired by Raketech Group. For two years Alex & Jens continued to work on projects together with Raketech and launched the TV guides in both UK and Germany.

This was the beginning of our journey. There are lots more to come!
